Our continued expansion means that the role will be initially based in Caerphilly, relocating to our state-of-the-art HQ in Newport by end of the year.

About the role

We are seeking a Technical Manager to play a pivotal role in supporting the acquisition, technical lease management, and trading of aircraft, engines, and major assets. This role involves technical value assessments, purchase negotiation support, and providing advice on sales and remarketing management.

Although primarily office-based, this role requires occasional frequent international travel to collaborate with airlines, external suppliers, and customers. Additionally, travel is needed to attend key technical and industry conferences. Therefore, a valid passport and driver's license are essential.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct due diligence reviews and physical inspections of aircraft and engines.
  • Perform Life Limited Back to Birth reviews.
  • Manage engine transitions and shop visits at third-party MROs.
  • Oversee engine health monitoring and maintenance contract negotiations.
  • Compile and verify asset traceability and airworthiness documentation.
  • Support the Commercial Trading team with asset exit strategies.
  • Support the evaluation of future acquisition & investment of aircraft/engines
  • Manage the onboarding, delivery, and redelivery of major assets.
  • Create technical sales documentation and address technical queries from Sales & Operations teams.
  • Maintain and expand relationships with the investor community and industry stakeholders.

You will ideally need the following:

  • Degree in an aviation-related subject or similar
  • Minimum of 5 years in a Technical, Asset Management, or Commercial Procurement role within the aviation industry.
  • Deep understanding of the aviation industry, including interactions with OEMs, airframe and engine types, key airlines, and MROs.
  • In-depth knowledge of aerospace industry quality systems and engineering principles.
  • Detailed understanding of turbo fan engine life cycles and aviation market influences.
  • Strong commercial expertise and IT skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, analytical ability, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to travel at short notice and work independently.
  • Familiarity with EASA, FAA, CAA regulations, including Part M and Part 145 desirable
  • Expand and maintain relationships with investors, including leasing companies, competitors, financial institutions, hedge funds, and other potential engine investors.
  • Interest in advancing a career in technical engineering, repair management, or quality systems is preferable
