Job Overview:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Metabolic CNS to join the team at the Children's Hospital for Wales.
The paediatric Inherited Metabolic Disease Service has an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated nurse with an interest in paediatric Metabolic Medicine to help deliver this nationally commissioned highly specialised service which provides support and care to children and their families across Wales with general Inherited Metabolic Disorders and Lysosomal Storage Disorders.
Prior knowledge is not essential and on the job training will be provided.
Main Duties Of The Job:
The successful candidate will work closely within the wider MDT to support patients in Wales with these rare conditions. The post holder will be expected to provide expert nursing advice and specialist support to patients, carers and professionals within the hospital and primary care setting as well as to school staff, children’s services etc
A Non-medical prescribing qualification would be desirable but not essential.
Initial patient assessment and initiating a care plan for patients in partnership with the wider multidisciplinary team (MDT)
Other Duties:
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this role; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
