HID’s Physical Access Control Solutions Department: 

HID PAC’s Business Unit focuses on the growth of new clients and existing clients where we leverage the latest card and reader technologies to solve the security challenges of our clients. Other areas of focus will include authentication, card sub systems, card encoding, Biometrics, location services and all other aspects of a physical access control infrastructure. 

As Our Senior Software Engineer, You’ll Support HID’s Success By: 

  • Working hands on as senior developer to write code and deliver your vision as part of development team
  • Providing technical guidance to the team
  • Experience with continuous integration and continuous deployment software methodologies and how they apply to systems engineering
  • An understanding of code review and familiarity with tools like GitHub and GitLab
  • Exploring alternative technologies for use within the solution
  • Operating within an economic framework when analysing the impact of design decisions
  • Defining, and supporting the implementation of enablers, sometimes in the form of PoC’s to evolve solution intent
  • Participate in backlog refinement and prioritisation including non-functional requirements such as security

What We Will Love About Your Background: 

  • 5+ years software development experience using one or more of the following languages and frameworks: Rust, Java, C, C++, C#, JavaScript, Node.js.
  • Familiarity of REST APIs and WebSocket communication
  • Familiarity of communication protocols such as MQTT and gRPC
  • Expert in working with embedded devices running Linux & RTOS
  • Expert in securing an embedded device containing PII (e.g. secure boot)
  • Familiarity of the basic concepts of biometrics (Face & Finger)
  • Familiarity with relational database design

Your Experience And Education Include:   

  • Legally eligible to work in the UK
  • Possess a bachelor’s degree in a engineering, computer science or equivalent discipline
  • 5+ years’ experience in professional software / firmware development
