Store Decorator

2. As a Store Decorator you will be responsible for preparing and decorating a stores internally and externally in line with business requirements.

What’s the opportunity?

We’re looking for a Store Decorator to join our Retail team in the South West & Wales region.

You will be responsible for preparing and decorating a stores internally and externally in line with business requirements. This will include working on a wide variety of surfaces, including metal, wood, plaster and stone, and incorporating numerous materials, such as paint and varnish 

What does the role involve?

• Preparing painting surfaces by washing walls, repairing holes and surfaces to paint 
• Applying paints and other finishes to various surfaces to the highest standard
• Handling planning and prep work in a safe and efficient manner 
• Preparing the surrounding area by covering with cloth or plastic to prevent damage
• Moving furniture and equipment as necessary to reach the entire surface of the task required to be completed 
• Taping off areas as required, ensuring during working hours the area is cornered off to ensure customer and team safety 
• Purchasing paint, brushes, and other supplies in order to complete the task in hand 
• Once task is complete, ensuring area is left clean and adheres to our store standards 
• Communicating with store store management team to ensure decorating standards are in line with business requirements 
• Carry out risk assessments to ensure safe working in accordance with health and safety legislation including the safe use of ladders, for working at height

Who are we looking for?

• Previous decorating experience, ideally within a similar role
• A hands-on approach to your work and a keen eye for detail
• The ability to carry out tasks independently
• Motivation to do the best job for your store
• Good communication skills 
• Ability to Climb Ladders 
• Ability to Carry Heavy Equipment (Including Painting Tools and Heavy Buckets of Paint) 
• Excellent Communication Skills
