This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified solicitor, barrister or FILEX equivalent qualified individual with a passion for Safeguarding law to join our busy and friendly legal team. Excellent knowledge of Safeguarding law and practice is essential along with a demonstrable ability and willingness to transfer your legal skills to areas of the team’s work that may not be currently within your expertise. Any previous experience of working within local government, particularly in Wales, would be an advantage.

The successful applicant will be primarily responsible for providing advice and assistance to social services and providing representation in Court in relation to children social care cases so they must be able to independently manage their own case load.

They will work closely with other safeguarding lawyers within our small and supportive team of safeguarding legal professionals and will have the opportunity to assist with adult safeguarding cases where needed.

The case load will be varied and interesting and cover all aspects of Social Care. This presents an excellent opportunity for a lawyer looking to expand their areas of practice where no two days will be the same!

The successful candidate will have significant opportunity to develop their profile and skills and they will be able to act as legal advisor on project boards thus playing an important role in delivering positive change and real benefits to the local community. Welsh speaking and writing skills are desirable.
