Further growth and site expansion here at Wrexham now requires us to increase our capabilities and presence in several key areas, not least in Security to ensure the safety of our site and our people.

As a Security Officer you will provide the site with a highly visible, pro-active and effective security presence, ensuring that business assets and personnel are secure at all times.

Please note this is a SHIFT role, working a 4 on/4 off shift pattern including 2 days and 2 nights

What will you be doing…

  • Protection of company assets and personnel: a pro-active approach to crime reduction, fire safety and health and safety issues. Strict adherence to guarding and vault/product protection procedures.
  • Control of access: control access and movement of vehicles, employees, visitors and contractors.
  • Routine administration: e.g. operation of the visitor booking system; visitor/contractor enquiries and directions; escort duties; pass issue and electronic access control systems; key security.
  • Maintain a high-profile patrolling presence.
  • Operation of security systems: operate and monitor Security Control Systems to ensure consistent surveillance of the premises and environments is maintained at all times. Support Security Team Leader to ensure Security Systems are serviceable and able to meet operational requirements.
  • Incident response: ensure that incidents are responded to quickly and decisively and are dealt with effectively and efficiently. Assist in the co-ordination of emergency evacuation procedures.
  • Respond to security alarms at any time to ensure appropriate action is taken, directing assistance when necessary. Respond to priority FMS alarms in accordance with procedures, ensuring that laid down actions are followed without fault.
  • Effective communication: e.g. applicable and timely notification of incidents; timely completion of Occurrence Log; high standard of verbal communication and written follow-up reports; proper use of radio procedures and call signs (where applicable).
  • Provision of First Aid: provide First Aid assistance and initiate call-out of professional assistance to enable emergencies/casualties to be dealt with effectively.
  • Support to the disciplinary process. Searches as required and appropriate.
  • Proactively support EHS & Facilities site initiatives. Carry out administrative tasks in support of the EHS, Security & Facilities function
  • Inspection readiness - assist in all matters regarding Site Security Inspections and audits
  • Assistance with complaint and product recall procedures.
  • Ensure and enforce compliance with site rules: e.g. observance of Non-Smoking policy; parking; emergency procedures; access control etc.
  • Perform assigned tasks whilst, at all times, adhering to current GMP requirements (e.g. Annex 1 of EU GMP) for sterile medicinal products.

What are we looking for…

  • Recognised/Accredited security industry professional qualification such as SIA would be hugely advantageous
  • Demonstrable professional security experience within a corporate or industrial environment is preferred
  • Excellent customer care skills with an approachable, enthusiastic nature
  • Meticulous, with a keen eye for detail and observational awareness
  • Ability to exercise judgment in the event of incidents or emergencies and any other unexpected events
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal across all formats
