Overall Job Purpose:
As part of the Community Transport Team you will provide a high quality passenger transport service to clients referred by Social Services and the Transportation Section. You will supervise and assist clients with varying degrees of mental, learning, behavioural, and physical difficulties. You will be directly responsible for the clients who will be in your care, from leaving their residence, until handover at their destination. You will ensure their comfort and safety until they arrive at their destination, and during their return journey to their residence.
You will also be directly responsible for ensuring clients are secured safely in their seats or wheelchairs, and also be directly responsible for ensuring wheelchairs are clamped securely in line with current procedures and regulations, giving consideration to the type and size of wheelchair, and physical restraint needs of the clients.
