Are you ready to step into the role of a Band 5 Anaesthetic Practitioner?

As an Anaesthetic Practitioner, you'll collaborate within a multidisciplinary team to ensure exceptional care for our patients. Your responsibilities will include delivering high-quality nursing care along the day case pathway and offering perioperative care to adult patients undergoing various day surgery procedures. 

Staff are expected to support other sites within the health board, when necessary, thus the successful candidate must demonstrate flexibility within their service .

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, be reliable, hardworking and work well within a team. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate high-quality nursing care in a specialised clinical setting.

  • Maintain excellent communication with patients, families, and colleagues.

Education / Qualifications / Training:

Essential Criteria:

  • Registered Nurse (RN) holding current registration with NMC OR Operating Department Practitioner registered with HCPC
  • Evidence of ongoing professional development and registration revalidation

Desirable Criteria:

  • Degree level qualification

Skills:

Essential Criteria:

  • Good liaison, negotiating, persuasive, motivational, empathic skills.
  • Adaptable and flexible
  • IT literacy
  • Able to assess, plan, deliver and evaluate individualised and evidence –based care

Desirable Criteria:

  • Appreciation of audit and research methodologies
  • Able to demonstrate a problem solving approach
  • Proficiency in ORMIS or similar hospital computer systems

Other:

  • Ability to travel within a geographical area to meet the requirements of the post

Experience:

  • Anaesthetic experience as a qualified or student practitioner
