Job Description

About The Role:

This is a role within a specialised department of the council involving supervising and organising works on all aspects of street lighting from civils works to electrical installation and testing. Our team covers a wide area of Powys and bordering counties.

And the work that we carry out is both interesting and challenging in equal measure. The main purpose of this role is Support the Operations Manager/Area Works Manager through the production of performance statistics and the interpretation of any data trends to improve services. To help a small street lighting team achieve our energy goals and targets, to make Powys Street lighting a greener environment.

About You:

The successful candidate would need to be.

  • Hold relevant site supervisor training CITB SMSTS.
  • Experienced in supervising works
  • Experienced in carrying out maintenance or repair works
  • Be hard working and motivated.
  • IPAF 1B qualified
  • Clean driving licence Class 2.

What You Will Do:

  • Ensure delivery of testing and working schedules within the department
  • Organise Column removals/ new column installs.
  • Ensure staff and contractors are carrying out works within the athorites health and safety and contractual guidelines
  • Maintenance, repairs and Led lantern upgrades.
  • To participate in out of hours stand by rotas.
  • Liaise with councillors and stakeholders around lighting requirements and obligations.

Location: Brecon

Contract Hours: 37 hours, Permanent

Salary: Grade 9 Point 23 to Point 25 £32,076 to £33,945 per annum £16.62 to £17.59 per hour
