Are you a night owl? We are looking for a part-time Waking Night Scheme Support Officer to join our Kerrigan project which includes our rough sleepers provision in Bridgend on a permanent basis. No 2 days are the same and it is especially rewarding when you see an individual’s development and they move on into their own tenancy. What Is Great About The Role?

The Kerrigan Project provides support and accommodation for 9 people. The project is aimed at people who have complex needs including a combination of substance misuse, offending and mental ill-health. The project also provides emergency provision for up to 9 rough sleepers per night.

We provide housing and support to improve mental and emotional health, reduce re-offending, access sustainable housing and maintain independence within the community. The people we work with are also encouraged and supported to develop life skills.

Your Night Will Consist Of:

  • You will work with people to truly make a difference in their life
  • Use your skills and talents to engage with people
  • Support people to achieve their potential
  • Develop your networking skills by working in partnership with external agencies
  • You will be responsible for Health and Safety checks along with other additional duties.
  • You will be the point of contact for our clients, whether they need advice, support, guidance, or somebody to talk to at the end of the day.

Our aim is to ensure we equip these individuals with the knowledge and tools they need to live independently. This is a challenging role as this service delivers intensive support around each client’s recovery before focus is put on the housing related support and you will be faced with complex behaviours and needs, including alcohol misuse, mental health, substance misuse, anti-social behaviour and offending behaviour.

Who We Are Looking For:

Please demonstrate in your application form how you:

  • Have knowledge of housing related support and benefit systems
  • Have good organisation, IT and record keeping skills  
  • Can work part of a team and on an individual basis
  • Deal with difficult situations
  • Have good listening skills
  • It would be desirable for the successful candidate to have a full drivers licence and access to a vehicle.
