Job Description

Our client is looking for a Procurement Assistant to join their expanding team on a permanent basis.

Essential

  • Experience in purchasing or procurement
  • Competency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software
  • Good understanding of supply chain procedures
  • Negotiation skills

Responsibilities

  • Assist Procurement Manager in obtaining supplies, services, and equipment at the best possible price
  • Identify and take full responsibility of company’s indirect purchases i.e., maintenance services, facilities management and utilities, office supplies and miscellaneous, telecommunications, operational services etc
  • Company’s packaging material and other consumables purchases
  • based on weekly stock levels and budget allowance
  • Monitor and check data and inventory accuracy and report promptly on errors or incorrect data
  • Keep detailed records, prepare and maintain purchasing reports for review by management
  • Ensuring the purchase orders are completed accurately and on time
  • Provide detailed and accurate information to other departments promptly when needed
  • Manage and respond to any non-existing and non-stocked product inquiries on timely basis. Work with company’s product specialist on any potential future demands
  • Helping to research potential suppliers and compare their products, prices, and services
  • Based on monthly budget allowance, track and monitor spent on company’s credit card. Prepare and submit monthly credit card statements to Finance department
  • Responsibility of product and services quality standards. Address, record and manage any supplier related quality issues, i.e., QA failures, damaged goods, late, short deliveries etc
  • Implement and manage a supplier evaluation system to assess and rank suppliers based on performance criteria such as quality, delivery, and responsiveness
  • Address Supplier rejection rate and cost to Procurement Manager
  • Conduct an on-site inventory inspection and prepare inventory listings to maintain productivity in the company
  • Work closely with Marketing Department on new product sourcing and development as well as any new projects that involves company’s supplier base.
