As one of the firm’s Enabling Functions, QRS services provides specialist support to the business. Across QRS we bring together highly skilled, knowledgeable, and experienced professionals to support the smooth running of our firm. As an enabling function, QRS Services will work alongside other enabling functions under CBS to provide services to the Firm.

Operating in a highly regulated environment, Deloitte is required to ensure the Firm, as well as our Partners and staff, attain independence from our audit clients. The Personal Independence team is responsible for ensuring the firm meets these obligations by assisting our Partners and staff to maintain their own personal compliance obligations in respect of financial interests and arrangements.

This role offers the opportunity to work in a challenging yet rewarding environment, developing your regulatory knowledge, specifically around auditor independence requirements, whilst liaising with internal customers of all grades across the firm, giving the individual exposure to senior people within the firm’s leadership. The role may also bring opportunities to engage with colleagues in other Deloitte member firms as well as at the global level through DTTL.

Independence is an area of continued scrutiny by regulators and the work we do evolves with the frequent changes in regulatory demands, as such your role will also evolve and adapt to ensure we maintain compliance and work efficiently.

Given the nature of this position, you will be handling highly confidential information, including personal information, requiring enhanced confidentiality terms to be accepted.

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Provide people management support as part of the PI QRS Services management team. This includes undertaking regular check ins, supporting the training/development of team members, identifying underperformance, and providing recommended course of action and escalating any issues in a timely manner.
  • Oversight and workflow management of key Personal Independence systems of quality control.
  • Providing quality assurance, feedback and training support to team members.
  • Support the management team and liaise with stakeholders/internal clients in relation to several internal processes.
  • Delivering MI Reporting to management and relevant stakeholders.
  • Developing technical knowledge within the Personal Independence space to understand the nature of services.
  • Being a key point of contact for Personal Independence queries.
  • Ensuring end to end processes are documented fully and reviewed on a regular basis.
  • Ensuring that prompt and regular communication and support is maintained between all internal and external parties to ensure seamless and consistent service levels are maintained at all times, reporting exceptional matters to Senior Management.
  • Identify and pursue scope for process enhancements to improve efficiency and facilitate continuous improvement.
  • Complete other tasks on an ad hoc basis.

Essentials:

  • The role requires an understanding of the financial services industry and financial interests with a focus on Personal Independence. Applicants should have:
  • Experience in a professional services organisation or a compliance/regulatory/financial/customer services environment
  • Excellent communication skills, proven ability to adapt style to suit audience and objectives
  • Proven and effective organisational and time management skills within a complex and challenging role
  • Ability to meet deadlines and multi-task. This is a dynamic role and you’ll be working on multiple, often complex, processes at the same time
  • Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to maintain high professional standards with a focus on quality, confidentiality and delivering to the highest standards
  • Ability to manage and adapt to regular changes
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills combined with good judgement and effective decision-making capability
  • Strong report writing and written communication skills
  • Good IT skills including a working knowledge of Excel

Desirables:

  • Experience of working with a Firm’s Internal and Regulatory rulesets and/or internal auditing.
