Mercedes Benz of Cardiff & Newport have an opportunity for a Diagnostic Vehicle Technician. 

Job Title:  Mercedes Benz Diagnostic Vehicle Technician

Full time:  Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 17:00pm Saturday morning on a rota basis

Position pays: £30,000 to £38,000 per annum

Location: Mercedes Benz of Cardiff & Newport

As a Diagnostic Technician working within the workshop you will diagnosis, repair and service of the full range of Brand products. You will also undertake vehicle road testing and will be responsible for ensuring vehicle parts are handled and stored appropriately.

A team player, strong communicator, and a motivator, you will be able to professionally coach and mentor apprentices as required.

More about you

To apply for this opportunity you will need to demonstrate the following skills:

  • Have completed an NVQ Level 3 qualification in Light Vehicle Repair or equivalent NVQ, BTEC or City & Guilds qualifications.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to liaise with colleagues within the Retailer and customers to explain complex repairs.
  • Your dedication to maintaining your product knowledge, brand and industry knowledge by accepting mentoring and development opportunities.
  • Checking level and quality of work through use of diagnostic equipment, self-quality checking and road testing of vehicles after the work has been carried out.
  • The ideal applicant will have some previous history of working in a retailer environment and experienced coaching and mentoring junior or less experienced team members.Practical knowledge of working on electric vehicles is desirable.
