Come And Join Our Team:

Are you passionate about inspiring the next generation of mathematicians? Ysgol Bro Dinefwr is looking for a dynamic and dedicated Mathematics Teacher to join our experienced and innovative team. Ideally, the role requires the ability to teach through the medium of Welsh, ensuring an inclusive and engaging learning environment for all students.

Ysgol Bro Dinefwr is a Bilingual Category School (Type B) located near the town of Llandeilo, on the banks of the River Tywi and in the shadow of Dinefwr Castle. It is a school of 1,100 pupils, providing education for students from Year 7 to 13, as well as a specialist Autism unit for 42 students. Education is provided in a rural setting on a modern campus with excellent learning resources. We are very proud to offer innovative education using our ‘Natur’ Outdoor Education Centre, an area of approximately one and a half acres with an outdoor stage, poly tunnels, a pond, and accommodation for our goats, chickens, and ducks. Our goal is to create an environment of achievement and inclusion for all members of our community to help them ‘ascend on the wings of learning’ (esgyn ar adain dysg).

We are eager to appoint a teacher who can develop and deliver engaging lesson plans in line with Curriculum for Wales, tailored to various learning styles. The successful candidate will use innovative teaching methods to foster curiosity and critical thinking among students, providing constructive feedback and support to help them improve their understanding and master mathematical concepts.

As a forward-thinking department, collaboration with the team will be essential to create interdisciplinary learning opportunities, with a specific focus on developing an innovative curriculum for students in Years 7-9. The successful candidate will also contribute to the GCSE and A-Level curriculum, preparing students to meet the challenge of external examinations and achieve high standards of attainment. Ysgol Bro Dinefwr has a history of maintaining high standards of achievement across the continuum, ensuring that every student reaches their potential.  The successful candidate will be required to have a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics. In addition, the candidate must hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and have experience teaching Mathematics at secondary level. Experience of teaching the statistics element of A Level Mathematics would be desirable.

We offer a wide range of staff benefits, including a comprehensive personal development programme, opportunities to collaborate closely with peers within and beyond the Mathematics and Numeracy AOLE, and departmental support for sharing learning resources and developing new plans. We pride ourselves on offering a supportive and developmental environment with an ethos of sharing successful practices for the benefit of the entire community.
