We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual to develop and implement an integrated and co-ordinated approach for service delivery for all the Council’s passenger transport & transport related infrastructure in accordance with strategic, corporate and departmental performance plans, priorities and objectives and for ensuring that the Council adopts best practice and delivers maximum efficiency, whilst also complying with all statutory, regulatory and advisory requirements.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the ability to manage staff through effective team building and motivational techniques. They must be able to plan and prioritise workload for both themselves and the team that report to them and work effectively under pressure. You will have excellent communication skills, both oral and written, for dealing with colleagues at all levels, elected members and customer enquiries.

Job Purpose: 

Reporting to the Transportation Manager, the post holder is responsible for the effective management and direction of the Integrated Transport Unit and for ensuring the safe and efficient delivery of all fleet and passenger transport services for the Council.

The post holder is responsible for developing and implementing grey fleet policy for the Council, and developing and implementing an integrated and coordinated approach for service delivery for all the Council’s commercial fleet, passenger transport and transport related infrastructure in accordance with strategic, corporate and divisional performance plans, priorities and objectives and for ensuring that the Council adopts best practice and delivers maximum efficiency
