Main Purpose Of Role: 

Reporting directly to the Despatch Co-ordinator, you will facilitate the despatch process for all out going Material/Waste from the Brecon Road site. To load vehicles in line with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP/Good Distribution Practice (GDP) standards maximising output in line with the business needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the despatching of all types of despatch operations that fit with the needs of the business. The types of despatches will primarily be: Commercial Despatches, Clinical Despatches, Miscellaneous Despatches, Serialised Despatches, Destruction Consignments, Waste Management Uplifts
  • You will make sure that all material is despatched from site in line with the company’s procedures regarding GDP and GMP principles whilst working to priorities as set out in the weekly plan.
  • You will make sure that all visual matrix boards and trackers are managed and kept up to date at all times.
  • You will report and highlight any issues that have the potential to impact On Time In Full (OTIF). This will be done both verbally and/or through the use of shift handover.
  • You will be required to work safely and to a high level of quality at all times in line with the company and departmental standards.
  • You will be required to behave responsibly and diligently and conduct yourself in a professional manner at all times.
  • You will be required to work to the S,Q,D,C principles of the department as outlined below.
  • For this position it is a minimum requirement that you hold a full & current UK drivers licence.
  • In line with business needs you will be required as part of this role to carry out all aspects of the Stock Control Assistant role.

Safety:

  • Operate safely in the area and lead by example. Take care of own health and safety and that of people who may be affected by what you do (or do not do). Co-operate with others on health & safety, and not interfere with, or misuse, anything provided for your own health, safety or welfare.
  • Take ownership to raise SEE cards and either close out the issue or provide a method to get the issue resolved. This applies to safety behaviours & conditions.
  • Ensure that all warehouse equipment has been checked and is safe and suitable to be used as outlined in warehouse procedures.
  • Assist by resolving Warehouse Safety audit findings when necessary.
  • Control all vehicle movements within the area of Despatch.
  • You will also be required to assist with resolving any chemical spills on site in line with COSHH.

Quality:

  • Maintain the Despatch areas of the Warehouse in line with internal procedures that stem from cGMP and GDP principles.
  • Ensure that all internal Standard Operating Procedures are followed at all times by yourself and others.
  • Ensure that all status control applying to materials is followed in line with GMP principles.
  • Ensure that all materials are located accurately – both physically and on our internal ERP system (JD Edwards)
  • Be responsible for ensuring that any internal process failings are captured through the raising of UK Internal exceptions.
  • To support in the raising of exceptions and completing certain Corrective and Preventative actions as required by your line manager.
  • Assist by resolving Warehouse Weekly area audit findings when necessary.

Delivery:

  • As and when required cover for the Despatch Co-ordinator at times of Holiday and sickness.
  • As and when identified and authorised by Materials Management Supervisor, assist with other general warehouse activities or administrative duties required within the department.
  • As part of the role you may be required to attend relevant site operational meetings to ensure the department is serving the needs of the business.

Cost/Lean – People:

  • Assist the Despatch Coordinator in implementing CI projects within the warehouse.
  • Ensure that you attend any training session that has been set up for you by the Coordinator.
  • Ensure that all internal training records are accurate and up to date through the use of our internal system
  • Be available for overtime requirements to support the business during busy periods or to help cover the department due to unforeseen circumstances.

Work Experience And Skills Required:

  • Experience in Warehouse and Freight Haulage operations including specific handling and storage constraints associated with the Pharmaceutical products.
  • Competent in the use of all Microsoft system process’s and JDE (ERP) Process’s.
  • Knowledge of Pharmaceutical Supply Chain operations and Freight Forwarding process’s.
  • Dependable, reliable and self-motivated.
  • A good level of computer skills is required.
  • Able to communicate in a clear and concise manner.  
  • Enthusiastic and flexible in approach and ready to assist and support all other areas of the Department.

Qualifications:

  • Educated to GCSE level of equivalent.
  • Recognised Warehouse equipment qualification (desirable).
