Job Description

To support the implementation of the ICT Strategy through providing training and technical support for all aspects of ICT

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • To implement South Wales Fire & Rescue Service’s ICT Strategy.
  • To work closely with members of the organisation in order to identify and support cost-effective ICT training solutions for all applications used within the service.
  • To design and deliver appropriate training to staff using various methods including: classroom, workshops, one-to-one tuition, elearning and be delivered at any site within the Service.
  • To provide 1st line technical support, diagnostics, system support, advice, for all aspects of ICT.
  • Undertaking training outside of normal working hours to fit with firefighter shift patterns.

STANDARD SERVICE REQUIREMENTS

  • To attend in-house and external training courses as required.
  • Any other duties commensurate with the grade and post.
  • To co-operate fully with any scheme or pilot scheme that shall be introduced within the department or across the Service.
  • To implement the principles of the Service’s Equal Opportunities and Diversity Policies and Welsh Language Schemes whilst carrying out the above duties.
  • To adhere to Health & Safety Legislation/Relevant Service Policies and Procedures and to take reasonable care for the health and safety of yourself and other persons who may be adversely affected by your acts/omissions.
