We use a system thinking approach to provide demand led support around what matters the most to our service users.

Our Monmouthshire Floating Support team are responsible for ensuring everyone who has been housed in temporary accommodation is given the support they need to help them move on into a tenancy. By joining this team, you would play an influential role in delivering on our pledge to get as many people as we can a safe home that they can independently manage. This role does have it challenges, you would be working with people who have their own unique experiences and support needs including substance misuse issues and offending backgrounds. However, this is also an incredibly rewarding role as you get to support someone to live independently and a more fulfilling life. You will also be working alongside an experienced team and manager who will support you to develop skills and relationships with external agencies.

Our aim is to ensure we equip these individuals with the confidence, knowledge, and tools they need to manage their home independently, so it is essential that we teach them how and not do it for them. This is a challenging role, and you will be faced with varying needs which can lead to frustrations when there is a lack of understanding of the housing issues, the people we support, face. You will work with a range of different personalities and behaviours so you will need to be able to adapt your approach to engage with a diverse cliental as well as have an awareness of the issues faced by people at risk of homelessness.
