The Role
We are recruiting for Construction Site Supervisor professional to join the civil engineering and construction team owing to the growing portfolio of infrastructure development projects within the business. This role is based in our Glascoed manufacturing site and is contingent based for 9 months, with potential scope to extend.
The appointed person will work on behalf of the Client team to competently co-ordinate construction projects and support the Client in fulfilling their duties as Client, Principal Designer and Principal Contractor in accordance with the CDM Regulations.
Role Responsibilities:
Not limited to
- Supervising operatives and subcontractors.
- Interpret construction working drawings.
- Assisting contract managers plan work.
- Ensure work is carried out safely and in line with company policies.
- Complete daily and weekly records for site reports.
- Attend site management meetings where required and report on progress.
- Inducting new operatives on site.
- Monitoring and reporting on progress to site engineer.
- Maintaining site records including mandatory site inspection, tool inspections, welfare inspections, etc.
- Maintaining site compounds and signage.
- Reviewing method statement and risk assessments.
- Issue of daily permits and signing off.
- Organising and co-ordinating site deliveries.
- Inspecting sub-contractors works including civils and brick work and completing Quality check sheets.
- Inspecting temporary works.
What BAE Systems are looking for, from you:
Essential -
- A minimum qualification of a SSSTS or SMSTS are required or equivalent NVQ Level.
- CSCS Academically Qualified Person or equivalent.
- Understanding of the 2015 CDM Regulations.
- Temporary Works Supervisor/Coordinator.
- Supervision: 3 years min. experience.
- Practiced experience in construction design within the industrial sector (client or contractor biased).
- Demonstrable experience in a construction environment.
- Demonstrate a good knowledge of H&S and CDM legislation.
- Understanding and knowledge of Building Safety Act desirable.
- A minimum qualification of a SSSTS or SMSTS are required or equivalent NVQ Level.
Desirable -
- NEBOSH Construction Certificate.
- Member, or working towards membership in related Professional Engineering Institution.
- Working in a defense related industry background.
Security Requirements: CTC
This role will require the person to hold full Counter Terrorist Check (CTC) prior to working onsite. You will need to obtain a BPSS check as part of this process.
The Umbrella rate quoted above is the Gross Umbrella rate (i.e. the rate we pay to the Umbrella Company inclusive of ALL employment costs). Please note, the rate paid by the Umbrella will be less, as will a Limited Deemed rate or Agency PAYE rate. Please get in touch to discuss the rates via these different payment vehicles.
