North Wales Medical School
The North Wales Medical School is the focus for medical, biomedical teaching and research at Bangor University. The school comprises of over 90 staff, delivering a portfolio of programmes that continues to expand. These include existing programmes in Medicine, Biomedical and Medical Sciences, Pharmacology and Physician’s Associate. From Autumn 2025, the MPharm Pharmacy degree will be offered (subject to accreditation). The School’s research centres, organised within the Bangor Institute for Medical and Health Research (BIHMR), span medicines optimisation, primary care, clinical trials, health economics, ageing and dementia, public health and cancer biology and pharmacology.
