A fantastic opportunity for an experienced Engineering Manager (CEM) to join our rail and civil engineering team in the Wales region supporting long term and secured Infrastructure projects and major frameworks, throughout Wales.
Business Unit
A busy and fast paced business unit involved in a range of civil engineering works in a variety of sectors to include rail (bridges, embankments, stations, platforms, tunnels etc.), Environment Agency, Local Authority etc. The business unit are involved in multi-disciplinary civils projects across the Wales region, whether one off tendered projects or projects within our long term framework / contract agreements with key clients including both Asset Management and Infrastructure Projects.
Existing contracts include CP6 infrastructure projects, minor works and Environment Agency frameworks with works typically including bridge re-construction/replacement, upgrades and refurbishments, station work (platforms, access for all etc.), structures including bridges, tunnels, footbridges, flood repair and alleviation to name just a few examples.
The Role
This role is for Engineering Manager / CEM on the Wales Civils CP7 Framework. The Framework involves the development and implementation of civils renewals work across a broad range of projects ranging from metallic structures refurbishment and strengthening, coastal defences and scour prevention works, footbridge refurbishment, tunnels works to bridge deck replacement.
The Framework is a minimum five year long multi-million pound contract for the renewal of civils assets throughout the Wales & Border Route.
The Engineering Manager/CEM will be responsible for the management of the design development from receipt of Client remit, through site investigation works, outline and detailed design to AFC design stage and then subsequently will oversee the implementation of these projects through to handback including the completion of Health & Safety Files.
You will be responsible for managing the engineering process throughout the project lifecycle, working closely with the Project Manager and CRE(s), reporting to the Contracts Manager for the associated project/ programme of works. You will typically be responsible for:

To excel in this position, you will have been accepted as a CEM (Contractors Engineering Manager) within a contracting organisation & have extensive railway project experience.
