An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated and innovative nurse to join our Integrated Sexual Health team as a Clinical Nurse Specialist in HIV Care. In conjunction with the Senior Nurse & Team managers, the post holder will be responsible for the delivery of high-quality patient centered care for clients attending the Integrated Sexual Health Services of Cwm Taf Morgannwg Health Board (CTMUHB) and clients residing in HMP Parc in Bridgend.
The post includes liaising with professional colleagues in other disciplines and with other statutory and voluntary organisations.
The post holder will be involved in the development of local guidance, working in line with Welsh Government Legislation and HIV action plans, as well as FastTrack Cymru.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
Main Duties Of The Job:
Be an experienced specialist practitioner with expert knowledge and skills, within the field of Integrated Sexual Health Practice and Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV).
Will have direct clinical involvement, be responsible for the management of a caseload of clients living with HIV, and be the lead specialist in this field, working as an autonomous practitioner.
Provide highly specialist care, treatment, advice, information, education and counselling, to patients/carers living with or affected by HIV / AIDS, in accordance with British HIV Association (BHIVA), British Association of Sexual Health and HIV (BHIVA) and Faculty of Sexual and Reproductive Health [FSRH] National Guidelines.
Work within the legal responsibilities of the Venereal Diseases Regulations 1974 and the N.H.S. Trust Act 1991, and in addition will appropriately address client’s contraceptive and reproductive needs.
Work to Patient Group and Patient Specific Directions (PGD/PSDs).
Contribute to the multi-disciplinary team, caring for patients living with HIV, and will be or become a non–medical prescriber to enhance the role and provide holistic patient care.
Detailed Job Description And Main Responsibilities:
The post holder is expected to undertake clinical duties for approximately 70% of the role. This will include indirect clinical duties such as liaison, care-coordination, and direct clinical supervision of other nurses in the HIV clinical area.
The post holder will be expected to undertake assessment, and management for people living with HIV, including prescription management.
