About The Role:
We presently have an exciting opportunity within our Engineering Design Service for an Engineering Technician. Our Engineering team is one of the many services that keep the authority running; making sure that Powys is a great place to work, live and visit. On a daily basis our Engineers and Technicians develop new improvement schemes and maintain the existing infrastructure across a wide range of areas such as roads, bridges, schools, housing and leisure. We simply couldn't function without them.

So, if you don’t feel you have all the qualifications, our career pathway scheme could be for you – allowing you to earn and learn at the same time. Where necessary the successful candidate will receive an opportunity to study towards a two year part time HNC in Civil Engineering. Our Career Graded Trainee Programme also guarantees you a permanent position after the training is completed (subject to satisfactory completion of the initial period).
As well as receiving a fantastic grounding in the industry, this position could be a springboard into a number of exciting future opportunities within our department. As a member of the team you’d also have the offer to join our Institution of Civil Engineers Company Approved Training Scheme which will assist you with any aspirations towards achieving industry recognised Professional Qualifications.
As an Engineering Technician you'd enjoy a wide variety of tasks, working closely with more experienced professionals who will be only too happy to mentor and guide you through your formal qualifications.
We're looking for bright, ambitious and enthusiastic individuals with an appetite for learning and who work well as part of team. You'll need a good academic track record, excellent organisational skills, demonstrate a technical aptitude and have great communication skills. Salary: Grade 6 Point 11 to Point 14 £25,979 to £27,334 per annum £13.46 to £14.16 per hour
