Salary: Grade 4 £12.18 per hour

Hours: Supply / as and when required

Hafan Deg aims to provide high quality needs-led day care and reablement support to older people who live in North Denbighshire. The support offered will improve and maximise the persons’ independence as well as encouraging social interaction and community participation.

A vacancy has arisen for a Supply Attendant / Driver. If you feel that you can offer the caring and flexible attitude necessary for the smooth running of this service, where the citizen’s needs are at the heart of all activities, then we are interested in hearing from you.

Job Purpose:

The driver is responsible for the safe, secure, punctual and reliable transport of passengers whether citizens or members of the public.

Principal Accountabilities And Responsibilities:

  • To be responsible for the care, safety, well-being and welfare of citizens at all times when in and around the vehicle. To undertake similar responsibilities of care and safety for members of the public.
  • To undertake motor car or minibus journeys each morning and afternoon transporting citizens safely to and from the day centre or other locations, from an agreed pick-up point. To undertake such other driving duties involving members of the public between and or before/after pick up travel times.
  • Working with the passenger escort, being aware of citizen behaviour during the journey in order to anticipate or prevent problems, reporting concerns as necessary.
  • To ensure that a ‘pre-drive’ vehicle check is carried out before every trip and also undertake weekly checks as necessary i.e. tyre pressure checks.
  • To ensure the interior of the vehicle is clean at the start and end of each trip. To wash the exterior of the vehicle daily
