Job Description

Area Sales Manager - FT/Permanent

Location: South Wales

Pemberton Park and Leisure Homes Ltd is a well respected manufacturer of quality caravan holiday homes and lodges and has been trading for over 70 years.

We are currently seeking a professional, experienced Area Sales Manager to market and sell our products in the South Wales area. 

As an integral part of the growing sales team, your purpose and vision are to drive sales. You will be confident in using sales data to approach key decision makers to effectively engage and influence. You will enjoy identifying new opportunities to increase our brand presence and optimise sales.

You will be responsible for your own geographical area-This is a field based role and involves travelling with regular overnight stays. 

The role:

  • You will be responsible for a specific sales territory, identifying potential customers and converting them to valued customers. In representing the team, you will always strive to provide an excellent customer experience.
  • Planning and carrying out customer visits to a regular agreed schedule to ensure full coverage of the area. Adhering to company policy and procedures in all aspects of sales and marketing activities within the area. Servicing all aspects of customer relationship including sales, promotions, assistance with customer after sales service, inventory checks and credit control activities.
  • Collecting and reporting market intelligence information and adhering and contributing to the company’s management information and sales database systems including submission of weekly activity reports. The company will in due course provide you with a laptop PC and provide training in its CRM software applications.
  • The role requires highly motivated individuals, who understand that every contact with a potential customer, whether they buy or not, will impact on future sales as building the brand through word of mouth can deliver great returns. Finding the most effective ways to sell within your territory will be up to you.
  • Attendance at public, trade and dealer/park shows including participation in and supervision of build up and breakdown activities.
  • Attendance and participation from time to time at meetings of the Sales and Marketing team at our Wigan office and alternative locations.
  • Any other duties that the company may assign to you from time to time within the range of your skills and experience.

What will you need to become our Area Sales Manager?

  • An ambitious nature with the drive to achieve and exceed targets.
  • Excellent at building relationships & negotiating.
  • Self-motivation, with the ability to work autonomously, using your time effectively and planning efficiently.
  • A passion for sales and a true advocate of our brand portfolio.
  • A very keen eye for detail.
  • Great organisation skills, with the ability to prioritise and manage your time effectively.
  • A strong communicator, both written and verbal.
  • A full clean UK driving license.

As well as an engaging and varied day job, this role also offers a variety of benefits including:

  • Basic Salary: £30,000 
  • Additional annual bonus of up to £12,000 based on performance plus commission on sales resulting in an OTE of approximately £70,000.
  • 20 days holiday plus bank holidays (holiday entitlement accrues with length of service)

Company Information

Pemberton Park & Leisure Homes, based in Wigan in North-West England, began manufacturing high-quality residential and holiday homes in the late 1940s. The Pemberton name has always been at the forefront of advances in the design and development of the caravan holiday home concept. From the earliest days, ‘Pemberton Caravans,’ as they were then known, were built to last, and many 30-40-year-old examples are still providing sterling service today.

In the mid-1980s, the company was one of the first to introduce 12ft wide homes, which are now the smallest width models and still popular to this day. Pemberton was also among the first to offer a full range of static caravan models suited for extended seasonal use, with the benefits of increased insulation, double glazing, and central heating. Now regulated by the BS3632, this ‘residential specification’ is available on each and every one of Pemberton’s models, including 12ft residential specification homes, which are a rarity in the industry.
