Our residential homes provide support, guidance and care for children and young people between the ages of 12 and 18. Our children and young people may present with behavioural and emotional difficulties which may impact on their wellbeing and safety.

About The Role:

We are looking to recruit a number of full-time officers on a fixed term basis until the 31 March 2026. 

You will have to be patient with a positive attitude towards improving the lives of the young people. The role can be challenging but extremely rewarding.

You need to be resourceful with the ability to form relationships quickly whilst working as part of a team towards agreed aims and wellbeing outcomes.

You will be highly motivated, have good communication and IT skills and have a clear understanding of the needs of the young people and their families. 

Successful candidates will work a 37 hour week over a 7 day period (12 hour shifts) including days, nights and weekends. An enhanced rate will be paid for working unsociable hours. 

If you are successful additional recruitment checks will include a check for any criminal convictions and will check the barred list.

Written references will be required and as part of the services safe recruitment process, scrutiny of these references will be undertaken by management. 

In Return:

You will ideally have a QCF Qualification Level 3 Health and Social Care, Children and Young People, but not essential. 

  • We welcome applications from anyone who has other skills that they can bring to the role but are also prepared to work towards completing the qualification within a reasonable timescale. You will receive full support to do this.
  • You will receive essential training and ongoing opportunities to enhance your knowledge and understanding of the role and how to best support the young people in the service.
