This is an exciting opportunity to join Team Caerphilly and provide support across the wider Facilities Management Team.

We pay an attractive salary of £33,024- £35,745 and offer access to training and development opportunities.

The role of the Electrical Inspector is to provide technical electrical support to the Facilities Management function in respect of reactive and statutory maintenance undertaken in all Caerphilly County Borough Council (CCBC) buildings including schools along with any CCBC owned assets that are leased out.

The successful applicant will be responsible for Co-ordinating and monitoring all electrical related statutory maintenance inspections and report to the Principal Facilities Officer on statutory compliance. You will monitor the performance of approved contractors ensuring quality and performance at all times and provide electrical building services related advice, design, project management and support to building managers and budget holders.

For the role, we ask that you have:

  • A relevant Level 3 Electrical Installation qualification (Dwellings / Domestic would not be considered relevant).
  • A current Health and Safety Certificate or recognised Health and Safety Qualification and a BS7671 qualification in the current edition of the wiring regulations.
  • A Level 4 Design and Verification of Electrical Installations on the Credit and Qualifications Framework for Wales.
  • Sound knowledge and experience of a wide variety of electrical works.
  • A full UK Category B (Cars) driving licence and the use of a motor vehicle insured for business / work purposes to travel throughout the borough to visit attend meetings and visit Council offices.
