Job Description

This is a fixed term role/secondment until 31st March 2025

Harness your digital, communications and marketing superpowers to help make a real difference to real people and communities across Wales by working on a series of national health improvement brands including Healthy Weight Healthy You and Help Me Quit.

We have a unique opportunity to improve the health of the population in Wales through developing and delivering engaging behaviourally informed health and wellbeing messaging. This post will play an important part in implementing and supporting a series of high profile campaigns based on insight and evidence, with a particular focus on the Healthy Weight Healthy You brand.

Take your place in our dynamic team as we tackle important health topics through the application of Social Marketing theory and best practice.

Combining ideas and learning from commercial marketing and the social and behavioural sciences, Social Marketing is a well-established tool for promoting positive behaviour change in a sustainable and cost-effective way, delivering real benefits to real people. Main duties of the job

  • You will contribute to the implementation and evaluation of integrated national social marketing campaigns, designed to promote healthy behaviours amongst the Welsh public.
  • The role is an exciting opportunity to be an active contributor within an important topic area to make a positive difference to the wellbeing of population groups across Wales.
  • You will be a marketing, advertising or communications professional with a creative flare and experience of supporting marketing campaigns. You will have experience of working across a range of bilingual digital channels and creating engaging social media content.
  • You will work closely with our internal and external stakeholders such as the Public Health Wales Communications Team, Welsh Government, Local Public Health Teams, Health Boards, the third sector and of course, the public.

This post presents an excellent opportunity to work within a division dedicated to systems-working and multi-agency approaches to health improvement. Public Health Wales’ Health Improvement Division has a strong focus on evidence based practice, research and evaluation as well as the application of behavioural science.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
