As Material & Inventory Planner, you will ensure supply of materials and components are available to meet production schedules and optimum stock levels to ensure operational and production continuity. Furthermore, you will act as a Support Planner in the translation of commercial, non-commercial and development demand into comprehensive manufacturing schedules to enable on time in full supply plans, ultimately delivering efficient, effective and flexible solutions to meet production and supply requirements

What will you be doing…

  • Management of procured items and manufactured inventory for Wrexham site
  • Monitor, report and present monthly inventory levels for procured and manufactured items
  • Schedule the availability of materials, components and API to meet manufacturing plan
  • Ensure inventory meets optimum safety stock levels/reorder points in line with supplier lead times, minimum order quantities and supplier confirmations
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships both internally with stakeholders and externally with suppliers to ensure material availability to meet demand and policy adherence
  • Support Procurement function by providing necessary data for supplier meetings i.e. forecast requirements and performance, escalating any potential impact on supply
  • Assess volume requirements against planning assumptions
  • Daily purchase order management via SAP and RapidResponse (RR) Material Requirements Planning (MRP) obtaining and updating with supplier order acknowledgements
  • Understand and manage risks to minimise impact on production schedules, escalate any potential material shortages through appropriate channels
  • Forecast risks and landing projections, highlighting concerns or deviations against agreed policy
  • Maintain inventory policy including periodic reviews and updates when necessary
  • Minimise obsolete stock and ensure business is left with minimum liability
  • Drive utilization of planning and reporting systems (SAP, RR, DREAM etc.) reducing dependency on Excel
  • Ensure data is current and accurate, resolving any issues as necessary
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and identify areas of improvement
  • Adhere to agreed processes, standards, targets and KPIs, maintain data and reporting via dashboards
  • Competent back up for Planner #2 tasks to cover periods of absence
  • Perform assigned tasks whilst, at all times, adhering to current GMP requirements (e.g. Annex 1 of EU GMP) for sterile medicinal products.
  • Report any compliance concerns to your line manager or the Quality Assurance Compliance team.

What are we looking for…

  • Experience of working within an MPR or Planning Role using SAP MPS/MRP, the use of missing part lists and exception message reporting
  • Previous experience of non-SAP based business and planning systems
  • Production scheduling and materials requirements planning experience, together with knowledge and understanding of assembly structures and routings
  • Pharmaceutical or Biopharmaceutical background may be an advantage
  • Good communicator with the ability to form and maintain good relationships internally and externally
  • Confident with strong interpersonal, negotiation and influencing skills
  • Commercial, financial and business awareness with a full understanding of how failure impacts the costs, production, manufacture and customer order fulfilment
  • Results orientated and organised with the ability to plan and deliver against deadlines
  • Strong analytical, planning and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent attention to detail with the ability to provide a high-level overview
  • Work to deadlines and be flexible in approach to demands of ever-changing priorities
  • Ability to pick up new procedures quickly, to absorb a large amount of amount of data, make valued judgements and process accurately and timely data
