Salary Range: 

  • £33,000 - £38,070 per annum
  • Potential additional earning of up to £5,000 for standby

What You’ll Be Responsible For:

As A Transport Technician You Will:

  • Ensure that the Welsh Water fleet is maintained in line with MOT / VOSA standards.
  • Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with our Business Management system
  • Support the performance of the team by working in a professional and efficient way
  • Ensure that all aspects of vehicle and plant maintenance are completed, including paperwork and job card / record keeping
  • Support the team in achieving safety, performance and budget targets
  • Respond to customer requests and requirements as necessary
  • Carry out the routine servicing of vehicles in line with manufacturers standards
  • Repair and maintain vehicles and plant in a safe and roadworthy condition and in line with MOT / VOSA standards
  • Maintain all workshop records in accordance with BMS procedures
  • Carry out repairs and servicing to industry standard times
  • Assist in achieving business plan targets
  • Carry out all work in accordance with the company’s Health And Safety policy and systems

About You:

We will consider applicants with Light Commercial Technician experience only but heavy goods experience is preferable 

Experience, Qualifications And Skills Required: 

  • Full UK Driving Licence (HGV licence is desirable but can be trained otherwise)
  • Level 3 NVQ motor vehicle certificate 
  • Experienced in maintaining LGV’s to VOSA standards
  • A good knowledge of health and safety requirements in vehicle maintenance
  • Excellent communication skills

Good To Know:

  • 37 hr week - Mon- Thurs 8am - 4pm and Fri 8am -3.45pm
  • Site based role
  • Option to go on standby rota (one week every 5 weeks)
