This is an exciting opportunity for a Chief of Staff, Director level role, in Central Business Services (CBS). This position works closely with the Head of Central Business Services in relation to their leadership role and strategic agenda.

The role forms part of the CBS Leadership team and fulfils the role of strategic counsel and trusted advisor to the Head of CBS as well as providing operational support on the day to day running of the function.

This role will suit a highly capable and experienced individual with strong influencing skills and a positive and proactive approach, who is able to act with tact and discretion.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategy and Operational Performance:

  • Lead on the strategy development for CBS, including annual reviews and updates, maturity assessments, monitoring of progress against strategy, bringing best practice and insights to our development
  • Support the Head of CBS with ad hoc projects – strong project management skills and an ability to shape and manage a project from inception to closure
  • Provide a comprehensive monthly report for CBS performance, suitable for use by the LT along with sharing with COOs and Executive

Talent & Team:

  • Lead on the engagement strategy for CBS including ensuring our E4C survey action planning is done and coordinated and defining and executing a comms strategy to support ongoing engagement across CBS
  • Collaborate with our internal communications lead to deliver our Town Hall and Extended Leadership Team meetings
  • Represent CBS as the Enabling Functions’ People & Purpose Executive and on the EF Wellbeing Group

Financial Performance:

  • Lead on the planning and preparation of the long-term plan and quarterly forecasting exercises for CBS working closely with our Finance business partner
  • Monitor and manage the central cost centre to ensure spend is appropriately forecast, tracked and reported

Business & Leadership Support:

  • Build strong relationships with senior stakeholders including Enabling Function leads and their respective Chiefs of Staff
  • Act as an ambassador for CBS within the UK firm and as part of the Enabling Functions contributing to all relevant matters on behalf of CBS
  • Create and maintain cross-CBS relationships to enable leadership success, in particular providing support to the onboarding of new members of the LT and providing day to day support to the leadership team as required
  • Deputise for the Head of CBS as required

Other Areas Of Responsibility:

Maintaining strong relationships across the wider Enabling Functions community to enhance collaboration and integration focussing on specific initiatives and activities and longer-term partnership

Manage the Leadership team meetings and Enabling Functions Op CO – including scheduling diaries, pulling together agendas and coordinating materials for distribution in advance, taking actions and ensuring follow up. Planning meeting schedules for the year ahead, ensuring appropriate topics are scheduled on the agendas. Co-ordinate with our HR business partner on the delivery of the regular, cyclical talent activities eg reward; talent reviews
