About The Service:

The T.E.A.M.@Severn work with learners who are unable to access school due to health and exceptional circumstances. The team work across the City in community settings and council buildings. The team works in close partnership with learners, families, schools, EOTAS providers, other professionals within the LA, the Health Service and other statutory and voluntary agencies in Cardiff. The purpose of the service is to support children and young people short term, as they transition into full time education, training or employment.

About The Job:

The Senior Teaching Assistants will join an exciting new team who work directly with children and young people. The team develop and deliver a needs based programme to support the wellbeing and engagement of learners and enhance the package offered by the teachers in the team. The successful candidate will need to have a non-judgemental approach, demonstrating empathy and understanding as they will be working one to one or with small groups of children, young people and their families who may be experiencing challenge and trauma.

What We Are Looking For From You:

The successful candidate will need to have experience of working with children and young people in a multi-agency environment. A background working with learners with additional learning needs (ALN) including emotional health and wellbeing, and their families, will be required. A comprehensive understanding of safeguarding is essential as is good interpersonal skills, a good standard of written communication and competent IT skills.

We are looking for highly organised, motivated and passionate individuals who can join our dynamic, forward thinking team to improve outcomes for the vulnerable children and young people.

The ability to travel across Cardiff throughout the day is essential. The ability to drive a minibus is desirable.

Additional Information:

Please note: This is a part-time role for 32.5 hours per week, 39 weeks per year. The advertised salary is based on a full-time position and will be adjusted on a pro-rata basis. The actual salary for this role will range from £19,776 to £22,668 per annum, depending on hours worked.
