Job Description

Our client, a friendly company with low staff turnover are looking to expand their team due to an increase in business. The business is situated in Merthyr Tydfil with easy links to A470 and all major roads.  

The role is a full or part-time office based, Accounts Assistant offering the successful candidate a permanent position and a long-term career path in a thriving, expanding business with almost 40 years’ experience. They have a busy modern office environment with parking onsite.

This is the ideal opportunity for an experienced candidate looking for a career in finance that offers ongoing development and training.

The successful candidate:

  • Must have own transport
  • Must have a proven working knowledge of accounts and use of accounts packages
  • Competent IT skills
  • A qualification in bookkeeping or accounts is desirable.
  • Salary will be negotiable dependent on qualifications.  £27,000 - £32,000

Duties:

  • Process customer/supplier invoices and reconciling accounts.
  • It is a rounded Accounts Assistant role where you will be responsible for accounts payable, accounts receivable using Xero.
  • Process accurate monthly statements.
  • Communicate with clients to facilitate payments both in person and over the telephone.
  • Take ownership of the role to ensure all records are updated and accurate.

  • Must have strong communication skills.
  • Realise the importance of confidentiality.
  • Must be able to work independently or as part of a team and have the ability to adopt a flexible approach.
  • Able to liaise with customers on the telephone also face to face with clients and colleagues in a professional manner.
