We are seeking Support Workers to help set up our own residential children’s home within the Merthyr Tydfil County Borough. This is an exciting time to join the local authority as we begin to establish a residential arm to support some of the children and young people in our care. As a Support Worker, you will be integral in providing a safe and secure environment in which our children and young people will live. You will support them to reach their full potential by providing them with opportunities to thrive. This will involve providing emotional and social support, managing challenging behaviour and developing an understanding of early childhood trauma and the impact on the young people in our care.
All new applicants are required to complete a 10 hour online Welsh Work Course. You will need to complete parts 1 and 2 of the course and must be able to evidence this prior to starting work with the Authority.

Salary: Grade 4 SCP 13-17= £26,873 - £28,770 per annum pro rata = 85.13% - £22,876 - £24,491 per annum
