Print Apprentice to work in our Litho department

About the Role:

An exciting opportunity has arisen within our site in Neath, and we are currently seeking a highly motivated and ambitious individual who would enjoy working in a manufacturing environment, as a Print Technician Apprentice.  

Job Role:

  • To operate print machinery in compliance with the company procedures and policies plus instructions within each job box.
  • To operate to the agreed targets and standards set.
  • To follow company Safety, Quality and Environmental policies at all time

Key Accountabilities:

  • To follow job box works instructions as issued
  • To follow safety policies/Environmental policies
  • To ensure minimum downtime, make-readies are achieved. 
  • To ensure the press is run at maximum speed achievable on each job.
  • To report any non-conforming material from suppliers
  • To carry out any additional training necessary to perform role. To train other trainees when required, including apprentices and production staff as and when required. 
  • To use X-Rite colour measurement system as per customer agreed standard.
  • Ensure all materials are press ready to minimise/eliminate any press downtime between changeovers.
  • All whilst complying with DS Smith policies, procedures, and Safety regulations.  

Desired Qualifications:

  • GCSE English, Maths and Science at grade C or grade 4 or above or equivalent.
