Rhondda Heritage Park is looking to recruit ex miners as Casual Tour guides to join the team to advocate the World famous story of coal mining in the Rhondda.
Candidates will be responsible to the Operational Manager.
The successful candidate will need to be knowledgeable, enthusiastic and hard working with a flexible attitude towards work. A pleasant manner and ability to deal with customers are essential.
Main duties will include taking visitors on the recently developed colliery surface and underground tour. As an ex – miner your personal experiences will make each tour unique and informative. Working alongside other ex-miners your shared knowledge will become a wealth of information for any visitor to the site. You will be proactive in welcoming visitors to the venue and ensuring their visit is a positive experience.
You will be expected to carry out light maintenance and general housekeeping of public areas along with any other duties as outlined in the job description.
This post will involve working on a rota and will include working on Weekends and Bank Holidays for which the appropriate payments will be made.
