Salary: £54,000 to £61,000 (depending on experience)

We are seeking an experienced clinical leader to join our team as our new Head of Nursing.

About the role

This role combines clinical expertise with leadership and management responsibilities to ensure high-quality care and service delivery for children and their families at our ten bed children's hospice located in Sully. The Head of Nursing is a critical role that contributes to the ongoing development and delivery of Tŷ Hafan’s charitable objectives by providing strong operational leadership for all aspects of nursing and clinical services.

This is a great opportunity for the right candidate to make a tangible and lasting difference to the experiences of the children and families who use our service.  

About you

We are looking for a passionate and credible clinical leader who can demonstrate a high degree of integrity, with a proven track record of maintaining high professional standards. The ideal candidate will be a qualified registered Nurse and have:

  • significant leadership and management experience in a paediatric setting
  • the ability to make effective clinical decisions in complex care settings
  • experience in the development and implementation of strategic and operational plans, adjusting plans and resources accordingly
  • a demonstrable track record of success in shaping and delivering change initiatives, project management, and service improvements
  • experience of working directly with regulatory bodies, with awareness of the regulations and standards that govern the independent healthcare sector
  • excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships with a range of stakeholders and diverse groups of people
  • problem solving skills and ability to respond in an agile manner to sudden and unexpected demands
  • strong understanding of clinical governance and risk, with the ability to horizon scan to anticipate and mitigate risks before problems arise
  • knowledge and experience in applying safeguarding legislation
  • excellent time management skills, able to prioritise workload effectively
  • an understanding and empathy for the needs of children and young people with life-limiting conditions and complex needs.
